9/26 - Mom was in town so we headed off on a wild goose chase to find the 1001 Mine. Oh, and it's pronounced "One-Oh-Oh-One" Mine just so you know. Cause knowledge is power and all that. Supposedly it is a working mine all year round but as you'll see in the pictures, it isn't very profitable.
Oh, it's closed. That's a surprise.
Best guess is that this building was the opening for a chute that dropped the
ore and rock down the gully.
The sign didn't stop me, will the collapsed opening stop me?

Actually, I just climbed above the opening and then held my camera into the 1
foot opening to take this picture. I have no idea what that disk-thing is.
